Balenciaga's new handbag costs $1790...and it looks identical to a trash bag.

There has been a lot of uproar in the past year about handbag prices going up and costing as much as a mortgage. With the classic Chanel 2.55 bag now costing $9,400 and the Louise Vuitton Pochette Accessoires now costing $1,290, people are getting wary.

Balenciaga is preparing to launch a "Trash Pouch", a handbag created by the brands creative director Demna Gvasalia. It made its debut at the Balenciaga 360 Show Winter '22 Collection. While premiering the collection, Gvasalia says that he "couldn't miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world because who doesn't love a fashion scandal?" At $1790 a bag, we say it's definitely a scandal alright.

What are your thoughts on this "Trash Pouch" and would be willing to pay this much to carry it around? Let us know in the comments below!
