If you're planning a trip this summer and want to pack light, one of the most popular options is to take your fanny pack. I love traveling with a fanny pack for the convenience of it. It's discreet and versatile, but have you ever wondered if it counts as carry-on luggage?
The answer is no.
According to the TSA, fanny packs are considered personal items. Most airlines allow passengers to take one carry-on bag and one personal item on the plane. The great part about just about every fanny pack is that you can fit them inside of a larger purse which will make it look more like a pouch. You can then take it out and use it as a regular fanny pack once you land.
Fanny packs are a fantastic travel buddy and they make your load much lighter. They are back and seemingly here to stay for a while. Have you jumped on board and gotten yourself one yet?
